Join Doctors For Change Wednesday, September 27th from 6-8pm for “Building Health from the Ground Up,” a forum organized by our Healthy Eating and Active Living committee.
The goal of the event is to promote healthy eating by building awareness of community partners and resources, and by highlighting community interventions to improve nutrition and access to healthy food in the Houston area. The forum will feature presentations on the topics of food prescription programs and community gardens. A panel of representatives from organizations in the community will also be on hand to field questions and provide insight on these topics.
- Memorial Hermann – Food prescription program partnering with Houston-area food banks to prescribe a healthy, nutritious diet to patients
- Finca Tres Robles – “Houston’s only private farm inside the 610 loop” provides the East End community with affordable, healthy and locally-grown food
Additional speakers will be announced in the upcoming days! Check back soon for more details as they are finalized.
